i dare you to show me something cuter than this.
My 2 favorite characters. <3

My high school classmate, Cheryl, invited me to do a song number (voice + keyboards) for her students at The Learning Connection this morning. I played Taylor Swift’s Love Story, which the kids sang along to, and Lady Gaga’s Pokerface. I never imagined myself singing Love Story though!
The kids were curious, slightly makulit and sweet. It takes the right amount of control and gentleness to keep a class of kids in tact. Che’s job is admirable. I don’t know how she does it.
The class gave me a HUGE Thank You card in return. I think this is one of the nicest things I’ve received all my life (I’ve always wanted a huge-ass thank you card!). Thanks for inviting me, Che. I enjoyed it!

What are the tools you use, esp. in watercolor painting? Specific brand pls. :D
There you go. :D I tried to draw it. The labels seem to be illegible here. (Brushes: Windsor & Newton and Le Franc; Paper: Canson Montval, or whatever is available). Everything I use are really cheap, affordable and entry-level. There are times when my watercolor works go borderline mixed media. That’s when I add scrap and random acrylic mediums, and of course the spray (I rarely use it). That’s about it. :)
Do you sometimes use textures through Photoshop for the art you post online? :)
Yes of course! I use textures depending on the effect that I want. I manipulate my works digitally to compensate for the bad quality I get from the photo (my scanner is long broken so I take pictures of them instead). Most of the time, I make it part of the process. Some works have minimal textures. For instance, these works: Sparrow, Spilt and Furyous, I only added hexagons in the front and a damask pattern at the back. Sometimes none at all like Arm’s Length. For Foxtrot, I obviously used a lot. I use textures to achieve an overall feeling or additive. But I make it to a point that when I add effects on Photoshop, the traditionals aren’t worth any less than its transformed version (I think the colors are much richer in real life). :)

what makes you happy? i love listography :D does food make you happy? or does the air, the ocean, the sun? (:
People make me happy. An afternoon with friends makes me happy. Animals make me happy. Welsh Corgis make me happy. Silence makes me happy. Rays of sun, the mark of light on a floral couch, silhouettes of branches and birds, melted ice cream, peanut butter, lace underwear, finishing a good book, humming to a familiar tune on the radio, women in magazines (though more envy than happiness), fields, Japan, water when I’m parched, handwritten letters, inspiring words from a person, furniture stores, the home-living section in department stores. If happiness is an activity (as claimed by Aristotle): Painting a picture makes me happy. And making out.

At UP AME no Jidai last Saturday | Photo by Erving Go.
Irene and I searched high and low for Erving to have photos taken with the geisha girls. They’re so pretty and intricately dressed! Irene and I were the girls wearing pink yukatas (center and right-most).

Muse IV by Edric Chen (dA) | Edric’s Tumblr
Two weeks ago, I had a small meeting with Edric regarding a shoot I would help construct the following week. Pauline was there that night for a short shoot and I helped out a bit. Edric took out tulle and canvas cloth and I turned it into a dress, then I was at the back dropping fabric. We never had these in mind and things came out unexpectedly. It was an interesting shoot. Visit him, he’s a really good photographer!

Shot for Coexist’s latest collection yet again. Watch out for them at the Saint James Bazaar in Ayala Alabang this weekend (27th-29th). I have that dress in the middle - too cute!(click on the photo for a slightly bigger image)
The night before, Marj Sia asked me to model and I refused and told her to look for someone better. After much (a 15-minute) persuasion, I agreed to do it. I never really regarded myself as someone who is beautiful so being asked to do something like this compels me to chuckle inside and think that these guys must be desperate! Turns out, they were looking for a specific look. But I’m glad that everything turned out fabulously well. These girls did a really good job, pulling off such unconventional styles altogether.
Visit Coexist! (This may sound endorser-ish but as someone who always thinks she’s not-quite-beautiful majority of the time, these dresses made me feel completely otherwise.)

Please don’t mind my obsession for beautiful useless patched-up things hanging on walls.

This painting is so beautiful and reblog worthy. I somehow feel guilty that it’s posted here while having a “please do not use any image on your site or bulletin board system without permission” writing at the bottom.
